Mimi le Duck Delays Opening By Six Days, to 11/6

To accommodate an additional song for Eartha Kitt as well as continuing changes to the production, the off-Broadway musical Mimi le Duck announced that it has moved its opening night to November 6; the production had been previously scheduled to open on October 31. Directed by Thomas Caruso, Mimi le Duck is being performed at New World Stages.

Mimi le Duck features Tom Aldredge, Candy Buckley, Robert DuSold, Allen Fitzpatrick, Annie Golden, Ken Jennings, Marcus Neville and Eartha Kitt. Book and lyrics are by Diana Hansen-Young, music by Brian Feinstein, and musical staging by Matt West.

The show follows Miriam Golden, a discontented Mormon housewife from Ketchum, Idaho, who, in a moment of desperately crazy inspiration, packs her bags and moves to Paris, leaving behind her husband and her successful career as a painter of duck canvases for the QVC Network.

Mimi le Duck premiered at the Adirondack Theatre Festival in 2004, followed by a well-received production at the Fringe Festival later that year. The musical has scenic design by Tony Award-winner John Arnone; costume design by Tony Award-winner Ann Hould-Ward; lighting design by David Lander; and sounds design by Tony Smolenski IV and Walter Trarbach. The production's Musical Supervisor and Orchestrator is Chris Fenwick.
